Fading Vamp (End of Project) | Post #6

Here we are at the end of my presentation. With my TED Talk in the past, I find myself unable to think of what to write about. Do I thank the audience for supporting my blog and project? Do I address the current state of my skills? Do I discuss the improvements I have made?

So many possible avenues to take this final blog post, yet none seem appropriate. You see, each of those topics is based on the idea that my guitar journey is done. That could not be further from the truth. Despite having to temporarily cancel my weekly guitar lessons due to conflicts with my baseball schedule, my journey is set to continue as normal. For many people, this TED Talk marked the ending of their experience. I, however, am just getting started.

Future

Save your "F" Bois

Good news, you do not need to spam the comments with an array of F's (see instructions on the previous post). I did not bomb the presentation!
In the final blogs of previous students, they usually provided their personal, estimated score. While I could do that, it would not serve much use since I already got my presentation grade. I got a 95%!!!!!! I thought that my presentation went well overall, but I didn't think it went THAT well! Here are the top Pros and Cons of my presentation (In my humble-ish opinion).

Pros

  1. Timing/ length of presentation was between 4 and 5 min
  2. Knew script well
  3. Jokes that actually made the audience laugh
  4. Seemingly calm composure
  5. PPT accompanied speech well

Cons

  1. Very shaky
  2. Read off of notecards too much
  3. Didn't dive into deeper message enough
  4. Was not as dressed up as I planned (Suit was dirty from FBLA States)
  5. Rambled at multiple points
I won't find out what my true downfalls were until I get my rubric back, but I am extremely excited to have gotten such a good grade on the presentation. I'm so excited in fact, that I am planning on not going to school next week in celebration.

While my journey will continue, I am not sure if this blog will. If not, "peace out yo"- George Washington probably.

States Photos

Since I discussed going to FBLA STATES in the last post, it feels only natural that I share a few photos. Enjoy!

Chris is not as strong as he makes it seem. He was scared of roller coasters. (Please use this information as leverage against him)

Signed photo with the PAFBLA President at Large (ex-president as of 4-9-19). I support neither his personality nor his politics, therefore this photo was taken for comedic purposes. He told me that "this signed photo will be worth a lot one day." For the county's sake, I hope that is not true.🤣
